Large-scale residential construction has alleviated housing shortages and improved living standards. However, under financial leverage, residential planning has predominantly featured gated communities with standardized designs, tailored to fast-paced real estate cycles. This approach has reshaped the built environments and transformed living traditions in China. Amid China\u2019s economic transition, residential development is now shifting toward urban renewal. Professor Wu Gang and WSP Architects have been deeply engaged in this evolution over the past three decades. Departing from standardized mass production, WSP Architects adopt a reflective approach to urban challenges in China.
