As part of the first year Course \u2018Grundlagen der Geschichte und Theorie der Architektur I&II – 2023-2024′, the Chair of the History and Theory of Urban Design invited students to explore the city of Z\u00fcrich by looking at the variety of shop windows and vitrines that can be found across the city. The vitrine is a fascinating architectural and urban element that materialises and transgresses the border between public space and interior. Students were asked to analyse the architecture of vitrines in the form of a diptych: a combination of text and drawing. The diptychs produced by the students are presented in this exhibition. Together they construct a lexicon of vitrines that speaks of the characteristics of the city of Zurich.<\/p>\n
