A Peer-to-Peer Writing Retreat"},"content":{"rendered":"11\u201316 September 2022, public final presentations:\u00a016 September | Tschlin, Graub\u00fcnden | an ETH Zurich \/ EPFL Summer School for doctoral students.\n\n\u00abIt matters what stories we tell to tell other stories with; [it matters] (\u2026) what thoughts think thoughts\u00bb (Haraway, 2016).\n\n\n\nIn academic research, the way we write matters in what kind of knowledge we produce, what perspectives we illuminate, what connections we build. Yet, writing a PhD dissertation is often restrained into specific types of textuality and understood as an individual process that the researcher undertakes anxiously alone. This summer school<\/a> intends to renegotiate and experiment with the ways we \u2013 as researchers and spatial practitioners \u2013 perform writing, as a format and as a practice in a non-hierarchical learning format. Set up as a collective retreat in the Swiss Alps, a group of peers will shape an academic community, work alongside and discuss their work-in-progress informally. Besides the time devoted to reflection on personal work, the summer school intends to offer an experience of community building in academia and a collective exploration in creative writing and collaboration.\n\nThe programme<\/a> includes \u00abRoom and Field, Writing One with Another: a Site-Writing Workshop\u00bb by Prof. Jane Rendell<\/a> and Dr. Polly Gould<\/a> (from The Bartlett, UCL), and writer Dr Sarah Butler<\/a>, sensorial workshops \u00abWriting with sound\u00bb by sound artist Ludwig Berger<\/a> and \u00abFollow your Nose\u00bb by community artist Curdin Tones<\/a>, collective cooking sessions and fountain bathing.\n\nParticipation fees cover accommodation and selected meals (lunch and 2 dinners): 250 CHF (ETH Zurich \/ EPFL doctoral students), 350 CHF external doctoral students.
