Formen des urbanen Zusammenlebens in der Schweiz.<\/p>\n

Der Begriff der Dichte ist in der Schweiz auff\u00e4llig negativ besetzt. In der politischen Diskussion um die st\u00e4dtebauliche und raumplanerische Entwicklung der Schweiz wird Dichte oft als Kampfbegriff eingesetzt und beschw\u00f6rt Schreckensbilder von \u00abzugebauten\u00bb St\u00e4dten und Horrorszenarien von Hochh\u00e4usern, die gewachsene Stadtkerne \u00ab\u00fcberwuchern\u00bb. Dieses negative Bild gilt es zu korrigieren.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Die Ausstellung verdeutlicht, was Dichte eigentlich bedeutet, n\u00e4mlich eine sinnvolle Ausnutzung des bebaubaren Territoriums. Wie materialisiert sich Dichte konkret in der Stadt, ist eine der Leitfragen. Denn Dichte heisst nicht automatisch \u00abhoch\u00bb bauen sondern vor allem kompakt. Und Dichte, richtig eingesetzt, ist das beste Mittel zur Vermeidung von Dichtestress.

In Switzerland, the concept of density has noticeably negative connotations. In Swiss political debates on urban development and land\u00aduse planning, density is often used as a discursive weapon, conjuring up terrible visions of \u00abbuilt up\u00bb cities and horrific scenarios with high\u00adrise buildings \u00aboverrunning\u00bb the evolved city centres. The exhibition will tackle this image and demonstrate what density actually means, namely sensible util\u00adisation of buildable territory. The chair Architecture of Territory participates with a series of silkscreen drawings produced in the framework of the thesis elective Projects on Territory, which critically address various histories of Swiss urban and territo\u00ad rial planning.<\/em><\/p>\n
