Politik und besonders Gender-Politik waren im 20. Jahrhundert treibende Kr\u00e4fte. Frauen machten sich auf in die Moderne, indem sie ihnen verwehrte Berufe eroberten und sich politisch engagierten \u2013 manchmal in extremen Positionen. Das Symposium zeigt, wie Architektinnen den vielf\u00e4ltigen Umbr\u00fcchen begegneten, indem sie die gewohnten Standards von Frausein hinterfragten und sich im Architektenberuf etablieren. Heute haben Frauen nicht nur einen festen Platz in der Architektur, sondern bilden auch schon l\u00e4nger die Mehrheit der Studierenden. So stellen sich die Fragen: Welche Rolle spielte die Politik bei der Etablierung der \u00abmodernen Architektin\u00bb? Und: Inwiefern beeinflusst die feministische Geschichtsschreibung und deren Wirkung in den letzten 40 Jahren die Baugeschichte?<\/p>\n

Politics, and especially gender politics, were animating forces in the 20th century. Many women navigated modernity by defining a place for themselves in professional work and embracing politics \u2013 sometimes even extreme positions. The symposium explores how women architects confronted such upheaval\u00a0to question traditional gender ideals and to forge a place for themselves in architecture. Today women have established themselves in this profession and now comprise the majority of architecture students. The following questions arise: How did politics impact the rise of the \u00abmodern women architect\u00bb? And, how has feminism in the last 40 years impacted the writing of architectural history?<\/em><\/p>\n
