In Swiss political debates on urban development\u00a0and land-use planning, density is often used as a discursive\u00a0weapon, conjuring up terrible visions of \u00abbuilt up\u00bb cities and\u00a0horrific scenarios with high-rise buildings \u00aboverrunning\u00bb the\u00a0evolved city centres.
