Opening Event for \u00abThe Swiss Spatial Sciences Framework (S3F)\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mandated by the ETH Board, the ETH Zurich, the EPFL and the WSL have set up a Working Group to combine their expertise to contribute to a sustainable spatial development. A three-part symposium is to be held in Zurich, Lausanne, and Berne to discuss responses to the question \u00abWhat are the crucial research questions in the spatial sciences in Switzerland and in Europe?\u00bb The opening event takes place on 19 November 2009 in Zurich. More<\/p>\n

Switching Trajectories in the Rhine Delta by Matanya Sack and Liesl Vanautgaerden. On 15 September the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) announced the winners of the 2009 Student Awards. Among them ranks Switching Trajectories in the Rhine Delta<\/i>. Faculty advisors: Christophe Girot, professor for landscape architecture, ETH Zurich and Sebastien Marot, guest professor for landscape architecture, ETH Zurich.

Die Revolution der Automation – Verkehrsautomatisierung und Gesellschaft im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert<\/i> lautete der Titel eines interdisziplin\u00e4ren Symposiums<\/a>, das Lehrst\u00fchle der Verkehrstechnik und der Technikgeschichte der ETH sowie der Universit\u00e4t Z\u00fcrich am 25.6.09 durchf\u00fchrten. Das positive Echo von \u00fcber 100 G\u00e4sten aus verschiedenen Fachwissenschaften, Unternehmen des \u00f6ffentlichen Verkehrs, Verwaltung und der Privatwirtschaft hat dazu motiviert, die Veranstaltungsreihe Gesellschaft – Mobilit\u00e4t – Technik<\/i> mit einem dritten Symposium (voraussichtlich 2011) fortzusetzen.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nProjektstart \u00ab\u00d6ffentlicher Raum in den Alpen\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Das Projekt untersucht, wo sich die Grenzen der \u00f6ffentlichen und privaten Nutzung des alpinen Raums befinden. Welche r\u00e4umlichen Einteilungen sind vorhanden und wie sind sie wahrnehmbar? Welche Formen von Raumaneignungen und Nutzungen finden im alpinen Raum statt? Theoretische Grundlage bilden die aktuellen relationalen Raumtheorien, welche die Handlungsaspekte bei der Konstitution von Raum hervorheben.<\/div>\n
